The Thinking Muslim Podcast is looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Camera Operator to support the ongoing production of our podcast and ensure high-quality visual output across our content.

The Thinking Muslim Podcast is seeking a Camera Operator on a freelance basis to support podcast recordings and assist with the visual setup and operation of our studio. Full training will be provided on our cameras and equipment.

Role Overview

  • Operate cameras during podcast recordings to capture high-quality video content.

  • Set up, adjust, and pack down cameras, tripods, and related visual equipment (training provided).

  • Monitor framing, focus, exposure, and overall visual quality during recordings.

  • Support the setup of lighting and assist with basic audio-visual coordination where required.

  • Prepare and set up the studio for The Thinking Muslim Podcast and, where required, other podcasts or external productions using the space.

  • Work professionally with hosts, producers, and external podcast teams to ensure smooth and well-run recording sessions.

Compensation

This is a paid freelance role, compensated on an hourly basis, with rates commensurate with experience.

  • An interest in camera operation and video production (prior experience is beneficial but not essential).

  • Willingness to learn and follow established filming and studio procedures.

  • Strong attention to visual detail and consistency.

Availability

Availability will be on an ongoing, as-required basis, aligned with recording schedules and studio bookings. Flexibility to support sessions during standard working hours (UK time) is preferred.
